This privacy policy applies to Zak & Zu Marketing, its website located at https://www.zakandzu.com/ (the ‘site’), and its use of third party tools and services. BY USING THIS SITE, YOU AGREE TO THE TERMS OF OUR PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE SITE. The privacy policy is subject to change at any time; please check back frequently to see any such changes. By continuing to use the site after changes, you agree to the terms of the updated privacy policy.
Foreword
We take the privacy of your personal information very seriously. See below to learn about how and what information is collected, how it is used, and how it is protected. We have tried to provide plenty of helpful examples and clarifications. Please be sure to read through the following in its entirety.
Automatically Collected Data
Our site uses a data capture and analytics tool, Google Analytics, to automatically log information about visitors (such as what pages you visited, how many times you visited, what browser you used, etc.) This helps us learn about how people use our site so that we can continually improve the user experience and better connect with our customers. For instance, if we see that a lot of people are engaging with a particular blog article, then we will create more helpful articles about that topic for our readers.
To collect such information, Google Analytics places a ‘cookie’ on your web browser when you visit our site. A cookie is a small text file that identifies you by your IP address. No personally identifiable information (such as names and email addresses) is collected except when you enter such information into a contact or subscription form on the site. Our CRM (HubSpot) does, however, aggregate data from multiple different sources into a single user profile whenever possible, and this profile may contain personally identifiable information that was collected from elsewhere. These tools are SaaS products, so all of the data is stored on the aforementioned vendors’ servers (not on our own servers). We cannot exert control over these vendors’ handling of data and are not liable for their actions. We do, however, make an effort to only work with reputable vendors who take important steps to safely handle your data.
You have the option to manage cookie preferences, delete cookies, or even reject cookies altogether in your web browser settings.
User Provided Data
We collect personally identifiable information including, but not limited to, names and email address through forms on our site (here is an example). Information submitted through these methods is stored on our third party vendors’ servers, such as our CRM (HubSpot) and email service providers (Zoho, MailChimp, Drip).
This information is collected and used only as part of conducting regular business activities. We do NOT sell your information to third parties.
You can always contact us to inquire about what personal information we have on file for you and request that we modify or delete this information. You may also request to unsubscribe yourself from our marketing emails at any time using the ‘unsubscribe’ button found at the bottom of these emails or by contacting us directly. We will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
Third-Party Sites and Links
We link to external sites (such as blogs) at times as a convenience and for informational or affiliate marketing purposes. We do not exert control over these third-party sites. We are not liable for any occurrences associated with your visit to these sites, nor do we endorse the content and materials that they contain except where specifically stated. Please check links and use your best judgement before clicking, and read the privacy policy whenever you arrive at a new site. We will never knowingly direct you towards malicious or harmful content.
We post content on external sites (such as social media and guest blogs) at times as well. Please be aware of these sites’ privacy policies. We are not liable for any occurrences associated with your visit to these sites, nor do we endorse the content and materials that they contain except where specifically stated.
Data Security
We take steps to protect the information that we collect online and offline.
- We utilize TLS encryption on the site to ensure a secure connection for data transfers between your computer and our servers. You can verify this by looking for ‘https’ in the address bar above.
- Digital records containing personally identifiable information are saved in password-protected files.
- Access to personal information is restricted to only those who need it to perform necessary tasks in the conduct of regular business activities. For example, not everyone at the company needs access to client contact information, and only a select few receive access to financial information as necessary to make and process payments as well as fulfill tax obligations.
- We only work with reputable vendors who are committed to protecting your privacy.
Final Words
Our use of third party software and services is not limited to those specifically mentioned above and may be subject to change in the future. What remains constant is our commitment to protecting your data, never selling it or sharing it with the wrong people, and striving to work with reputable vendors who share our commitment to your privacy.
